Neil studied photography in Ottawa. While studying, he was the assistant to Malak Karsh, a world-renowned photographer. During his two years with Malak, Neil had the opportunity to perfect his craft.

After graduation Neil went on to work for various newspapers. His ability to work with tight deadlines and to be creative under pressure served him well during his time in photojournalism.

Since 1992, Neil Valois Photography has served an impressive list of Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto based businesses, organizations, and government departments. Neil is pleased to offer his services in both official languages. Neil's assignments range from editorial, special events, portraiture, conferences and press conferences.

Some of Neil’s most prestigious assignments include being one of two photographers chosen for each of the following:
• In 2010, a 9 day tour of Canada with Her Majesty, the Queen
• In 2014, a 4 day tour of Canada with Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall
• In 2016, a visit to Ottawa by President Obama

In addition to specializing in ceremonial, VIP and protocol photography, Neil has been the photographer for the Speaker of the Senate since 2010.
